Mumbai: The admissions to IITs and NITs started on Wednesday. The admission schedule was postponed by almost a week despite of three revisions in the last one week.
The registration process started around 3 am on the official website of the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).
About 400 students had registered on the site by 7 am. A fourth and final schedule for the admissions was announced on jeeadv.iitb.ac.in in the morning.
After receiving the JEE (Main) ranks from the CBSE, The National Informatics Centre merged it with the JEE (Advanced) ranks and uploaded it on the website post midnight to save time.
Students can avail the JEE (Main) ranks for paper-I and paper-II on the official website of JEE and CBSE, said a release issued by CBSE.

However, about 13 lakh students were expected to be part of the joint seat allocation process to 34,000 seats in 85 institutes.
According to TOI, academic session at IITs, which were scheduled to start from July 16 will now kick start on July 22.
