The Assam government will sanction 70% of its non-planned budgetary allocation for all round development of provincialised colleges in the state.
The 70% amount was from the government's non-planned budget allocation for higher education, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said after launching the year-long celebration of Morigaon College here.
He said earlier only 30 per cent of the allocation for higher education was earmarked for all senior (degree) colleges in the state.
Several vocational curricula such as disaster management, forest and environment development and bio-energy products management would be introduced in the provincialised (government-aided) colleges of the state so that educated youths get self-employment.
