65 of JEE's top 100 opt for IIT-Bombay

As every year the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) has retained its number one destination for the top rankers of the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced).

Of 100 top rank holders 65 of them have taken admission in the IIT Bombay in the first round of seat allotments.

According to Indian Express, IIT Bombay is followed by IIT Delhi, wherein 30 toppers have taken admission out of 100 toppers, while 3 toppers opted seats in IIT Madras and 2 top candidates joined IIT Kanpur.

IIT Kharagpur, IIT Roorkee and IIT Guwahati did not have candidates from the top 100 list..

Since 2005, IIT Bombay has been on the top list among IIT aspirants.

In the list of top 500 candidates, about 177 aspirants have taken admission in the IIT Bombay. While 119 enrolled at IIT Delhi followed by 75 for IIT Kanpur, 52 at IIT Madras, 51 at IIT Kharagpur, 23 in IIT Roorkee and one for IIT Guwahati.

Among the top 1,000 candidates 273 have enrolled at IIT Bombay, followed by 194 at IIT Delhi, 172 at IIT Kanpur, 107 at IIT Kharagpur, 103 at IIT Madras, 46 at IIT Roorkee and 43 at IIT Guwahati. IIT (BHU) has got 38 and IIT Hyderabad 20, among the top 1,000 rankers.

According to IIT Bombay officials, multiple factors have helped the institute acquire the status, which include location of campus , education with flexible syllabus, the impressive placement record, research opportunities, industry links, its global brand value, etc.
