The state government has completed its 100 days successful government, but has failed to appoint vice-chancellors to the 5 state universities.
The 5 universities in Telangana state which runs currently without vice-chancellors which are;
- Osmania University
- Kakathiya University
- Talangana University
- Mahatma Gandhi University
- Palamuru University
Government had appointed temporary in-charge VCs to these universities, but the administrative work has been stopped.
State government have to release the notification for appointment of VCs to these universities, but state govt have not done anything so far. State government has to follow the rules made by the University of Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi.
Government has to form a committee to select the VCs, short-list candidates for interview, and select three candidates. The final candidate will be selected by the state government.
According to the UGC, for selection of VC post, candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of experience.
Due to the late appointment of the VC, students of these universities are facing problems. They are not able to receive their marks cards without VCs signature.
Students are requesting the state government to appoint VC for these universities as soon as possible.
