The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Goa is all set to conduct Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET 2014) on 06th and 07th May 2014.
GCET 2014 is the qualifying entrance examination which is conducted for admission to Architecture, Dentistry, Engineering, Medicine and Pharmacy courses in government, government-aided and un-aided colleges, for the academic year 2014-15.
A total of 3,400 candidates have registered for GCET 2014..
GCET 2014 test will be held at 11 centres around Goa.
"Students who would answer from the Margao centre at Damodar College will now be answering GCET from Rosary College in Navelim as the Margao institute has been taken over for election work. This has led to a swelling of the number of students answering from the Navelim centre," a DTE official said.
"Very often, students are not aware of this and come at the time of the process of filling of seats seeking seats under the management quota. Under no circumstances seats to these professional courses can be allotted if a student has not appeared for GCET," the official said.
In 2011 and 2012, around 3,500 and 3,600 candidates registered for GCET.
