The Supreme Court has granted permission to conduct EAMCET 2014 2nd round of engineering counselling.
As per the order, counselling will be applicable only for Telangana state and would be limited only to students who had not joined any college till date.
SC on October 29, 2014 granted permission to hold 2nd round of counselling for admissions into 174 private Engineering colleges, which had been de-recognised by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad. Counseling process will be held to fill the seats in these 174 engineering colleges.
The counselling process should be completed by November 14, and academic classes should begin from November 15, 2014. Court also directed all the engineering colleges to complete its academic classes as per the AICTE rules.
The Bench also directed that the first semester should be completed by January and second semester should commence from the second week of February 2015.
Who can apply for 2nd round of counselling:
- Many students who didn't get seats in the first phase of EAMCET 2014 counselling had later got admissions in other colleges through management quota and spot admissions.
- Students who had taken spot admissions will be able to participate in counselling.
- Spot admitted students can also participate.
