VTU signs MoU with Canadian Universities

Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum, has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Canadian Universities.

VTU has tied up with Aerospace Laboratories of Ryerson University, Toronto, and Concordia University, Montreal, to pursue collaborative projects in Aerospace Engineering.

VTU, Vice-Chancellor, H Mahashappa said, "Many Canadian Universities are keen on joing hans with VTU to introduce Postgraduate programmes at upcoming campus at Muddenahalli near Chikkaballapur."

Recently, a team of delegate members of VT, National Design and Research Forum, Institution of Engineers led by VC had visited several universities in Canada to initiate joint research activities and academic collaborations in various disciplines of engineering and science.

"We have signed MoU with Ryerson University, Concordia University to initiate collaborative projects in small satellite development and Aerospace Engineering, renewable energy, green nanotechnology and clean water technology," VC said.

Another important outcome of the visit was the internship opportunity for VTU students at world class laboratories of Canadian Universities, he added.

"We also visited the Centre for Advance Nanotechnology, University of Toronto, National Institute of Nanotechnology, University of Alberta, Edmonton Canada-India centre of excellence at Carlton University, University British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, River Side University, British Columbia University Institute of Technology, and Victoria University and reached agreement on students and faculty exchange programmes and collaborative research and for establishing centre of excellence in a chosen field at VTU," he added.
