Bangalore University approves 16 B.Ed colleges affiliation

Bangalore University (BU), Bangalore, decides to grant affiliation to 16 more B.Ed colleges from this academic year 2013-14.

Earlier, BU had permitted grant affiliation to 26 B.Ed colleges.

Earlier, around 100 B.Ed colleges of BU requested the university to grant affiliation.

BU approves 16 B.Ed colleges affiliation

The BU syndicate members have decided to grant to these colleges. Overall 42 B.Ed colleges gets approved by BU for this academic year.

These two B.Ed colleges got fresh affiliation, that had got clearance by BU high-level committee to get affiliation.

University, Vice-chancellor, B Thimme Gowda said, four B.Ed colleges had gained permanent affiliation: Vijaya Teachers College, R V Teachers College, Al-Ameen College of Education and Sri Sarvajna College of Education.

The syndicate also decided to play it tough with around 30 B.Ed colleges which had filled government seats on their own without seeking approval of the government.

B Thimme Gowda said, they will have to go the government's approval for these admissions for BU to announce the results.

In May 2013, High court ordered stay on disaffiliation of these colleges.

University Vice-chancellor Thimme Gowda has to decide on the fate of B.Ed and M.Ed colleges on 17 May 2013.
