The Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU), is all set to replicate the University of Pune for attracting more foreign students towards its campus.
The vice-chancellor of the university, Vijay Pandharipande says, "we plan to introduce a hassle free process of admission for the foreign students. Foreign students approaching the university for admission in the next academic year would find a single window documents clearance system in place."
"Till now, these students have had to get clearance from the police, foreign regional officer and external affair ministry. The single window system would make the entire process easier for the foreign students."
The system will even facilitate an easier visa extension process.
According to the university's plan, detailed information about the documents needed, procedures followed and the scholarships available will be uploaded on the university's website. The students just need to follow simple steps in order to get themselves enrolled to the university, they first need to register themselves on university's website, submit their admission forms and upload the require documents, which would be screened.
"The foreign students need to visit the university. They will be informed about the confirmation or rejection of their applications online," Pandharipande added.
"The admission process often starts late due to the document clearance work. So the online application and administrative work of foreign students will be initiated around February or March so that their academic session start on time," says Dharukar, who is a member of the committee appointed to suggest changes in the process.
