NIT offer free coaching to less-privileged students

NIT (National Institute of Technology) Jamshedpur, has taken a step forward in order to provide high quality education to aspiring engineers of marginalised communities,NIT has introduced a programme in which free coaching classes for boys and girls of surrounding villages will be organised.

 

NIT, termed this programme as 'Social Responsibility Programme', run by The Center of Community Welfare of NIT. According to this programme, free coaching classes will be organised for students from class VIII to class XII of adjoining villages near Adityapur, Jamshedpur. These classes are also intended to prepare students for entrance examination to various engineering colleges.

NIT students to coach underprivileged students

"This will give them an opportunity to study in institutes of repute such as NIT", says the director of NIT, Ram Babu Kodali.

Villages near to the NIT will be benefited by this scheme, their children will get coaching from some of the bright students of NIT .

"Actually, our director was keen on NIT serving the local community in a more meaningful manner, therefore, the preparatory classes for the underprivileged youth of the local villages," says Dr. Rajiv Bhusan, professor in charge (Media Relations).

The college administration has announced that special effort would be made to enroll the girl students along with the boys, so that equal opportunity is available to both in shaping their future. "As per our plan, but if required the faculty may join them in future," says one of the senior faculty of NIT, Jamshedpur.
