Jamia Millia Islamia University celebrates 93rd Foundation Day

Jamia Millia Islamia University has celebrated its 93rd foundation day with the announcement of a unique email id for students and teachers of the central university.

"Centre for Information Technology at Jamia will soon provide a unique email id to all students enrolled in Jamia. This channel of communication between students and teachers will help them share study material, develop online tests etc," officiating Vice Chancellor S M Sajid said at the function held to mark the occasion.

He also said that Jamia was thinking on the lines of starting a part-time certificate course in Urdu for those interested in learning the language.

The Chief Guest, Mohammad Zakir, a retired professor from the Department of Urdu, recounted the contributions made by the founders of Jamia and recalled his long association with the university.

An exhibition on "Indo-Islamic Architecture" was also inaugurated on the day. The foundation day celebrations will continue for two more days with several educational and cultural activities scheduled.
