No MT-CET, only JEE Main for Engineering
Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Mumbai, has issued a notification on Engineering courses admission for the year 2014.

Notification says, DTE will accept the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main exam scores instead of state's Maharashtra Technology-Common Entrance Test (MT-CET) for Engineering courses admissions in the state.

The DTE, Mumbai is the Competent Authority for admission to First Year Engineering 2014-2015.

The aspiring candidates are hereby informed to prepare for the All India JEE Main (Paper 1).

The Score of JEE Main (Paper 1) and HSC Marks (as per the Government Resolution Dt. 31 Oct 2012) shall be considered for preparing the Merit. The updated information shall be available on DTE website and CBSE website.

Earlier, DTE had conducted MT-CET for Engineering and Technology courses admissions across the state.

JEE is the entrance examination conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for admission to Engineering courses across the country.

But, now Maharashtra state has decided to accept the JEE Main examination paper 1 scores for admission to their engineering colleges across maharashtra.

CBSE, New Delhi is set conduct JEE Main 2014 on 6th April.
