Every year CEE conducts Kerala Engineering, Architecture Medical (KEAM) entrance exam for admission to Engineering, Architecture and Medical courses across the state.
In 2012, CEE conducted entrance exam for Engineering and Architecture courses only.
State accepted National Eligibility cum Entrance Exam (NEET) scores for Medical courses admissions.
On 19 July 2013, Supreme Court quashed the NEET exam across the country. SC directs all the states to conduct their own entrance exam for Medical & Dental courses admission from 2014.
However, the Centre and MCI are now approaching the SC for a review of its decision. The Kerala Entrance Commissioner has issued a notification without taking chances.
When contacted, health secretary Dr K Elangovan said that Kerala was awaiting the result of the review petition in the SC.
"Kerala had been taking a stand in favour of NEET for so long and will go for own entrance only if there is no NEET. This year Kerala joined NEET and students and parents didn't have any complaints about it," he said.
CEE, Kerala has announced the time table KEAM 2014 entrance exam for admission to Engineering, Architecture and Medical courses for the year 2014.
