JSS Engineering college bus met with an accident on Thursday, due to which the bus overturned on Uttarahalli Main Road near Chennasandra in Bangalore city.
Around 33 students were injured and have been admitted to BGS Hospital for treatment. The hospital representatives have examined to see how serious injuries were.
Police said that the bus driver had lost control over the vehicle and on trying to take a sudden right turn which had failed, the bus overturned.
The Kengeri traffic police had rushed to the spot and helped shift the students to the hospital. In the mean time, traffic on the busy road was disrupted for more than an hour.
The front windshield was completely shattered while the window panes were reduced to splinters. The students were rushed to BGS Global Hospital. Two of the injured were teaching staff of the college. The driver, Ramesh, received first-aid and was discharged.
N.K. Venkataramana, vice-chairman and Chief Neurosurgeon of the hospital, said: "Eleven of the injured were examined for orthopaedic and neurological injuries. Except three people who are admitted, the rest were discharged after first-aid."
