Job Fair for Senior Citizens

If required, the selected elders will be trained by NEF in computer and soft skills necessary for present day job requirements free of cost.
Nightingales Jobs 60+, an initiate of NEF has helped 412 elders getting suitable placements so far. The feedback from employers who have recruited them is very positive.

In view of the growing demand, this Job Fair is being organized.Elders in need of jobs are encouraged to register or participate in the Fair with two copies of bio-data. Employers who could recruit these elders are also requested to contact us and participate in the fair. This is entirely a free service.

Elders in India are facing several challenges. Financial insecurity is one of the major problems. Only 10.8% of the elderly in India are covered under some form of social security system, getting monthly pension. Most others need to depend on their meagre savings or entirely on their children, for their livelihood. But the encouraging truth is, elders, especially between the age group 60 to 70 years are physically fit, qualified and are prepared to take up jobs for nominal salary.

But unfortunately in our society we have not recognized this social need and created avenues to help such elders to take suitable jobs. This attempt will go a long way in ensuring financial security and life of dignity to needy elders.

Rtn. Nagendra, District Governor of Rotary International District 3190 will inaugurate the Fair.
