The agreement was signed on Wednesday. This new technology aims to improve the quality of the education process, by introducing new curriculum and preparing students for better jobs in the future.
Few well known institutes such as the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras (IIT-M), the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER)- Bhopal, Karunya University- Coimbatore and the Shiv Nadar University (SNU) have been selected for this program.
These universities/ institutes will make use of IBM's High Performance Computing (HPC) solutions, IBM system 'x iDataPlex' servers, IBM PureSystems, IBM Power servers and storage solutions, virtualisation equipments and software to help research, refine process and elevates the IT infrastructure in the universities.
Kakkamthottil, Midmarket and Inside Sales Leader, IBM India/ South Asia said, "The agreement has been made by recognising the increase in relevance of smarter computing as an approach to IT sector."

IBM also offers a wide range of products and solutions that enhance the curriculum of the educational institutes, ranging from teaching Computer Science, Information Technology and Business & Marketing courses.
Till now, over 150 IBM Software Centres of Excellence are set-up across India through the project 'Praviin' and backed by industry-ready curriculum, professional certification and incubation programmes.
