How to apply for Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) 2014

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India entrance examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of the candidate in various undergraduate subjects in Engineering / Technology/ Architecture and postgraduate level subjects in science.

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur will conduct the GATE exam for the year 2014.

Online registration for GATE 2014 has already started. Interested candidates can apply online for the GATE exam to get admission in Master's Degree courses in IITs and IISc.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Bachelor's degree holders in Engineering/Technology/ Architecture (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final year of such programmes.
• Master's degree holders in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final year of such programmes.

How to apply:

1. Candidates have to apply online.
2. Fill the online application form.
3. Upload the photograph and signature.
4. Pay the application fee through net-banking or bank challan.
5. Check the status of the application form.
6. Contact the Zonal GATE offices in case of any queries / problems.

Application fee:

• Male candidates: Rs 1,500/-.
• Women Candidates: Rs 750/-.
• General and OBC candidates: Rs 1,500/-.
• SC/ST/ PD candidates: Rs 750/-.

Important dates:

• Last date for submission of application form: 3rd Oct 2013.
• Availability of admit card: 18 Dec 2013.
• GATE 2014 online exam will be held from: 1st Feb to 2nd Mar 2013.
