The students who were all set to attend their counselling process faced lots of tensions and difficulties in seemandhra on the first day of counselling.
In-spite of the seemandhra protest, the state government had conducted the EAMCET 2013 counselling for admissions into Engineering courses on 19th August, 2013.
However, on Wednesday the AP High Court made it clear that students seeking admissions into Engineering courses need not suffer in the counselling centres hit by the seemandhra protest, but instead can go to any counselling centre in the state.
On the other hand, students can also go to the Sanketika Bhavan at Masab Tank in Hyderabad, which is the headquarter of the State Technical Education Board.
The court ensured that the decision was taken in order to conduct the counselling sessions peacefully for both Engineering and Pharmacy admissions.
The issue was brought into notice after 7 students filed a petition against the disruption caused during the counselling. Moreover, the state counsel had told the court that they had identified problematic centres and gave students the option of going to any centre in view of the prevailing unrest in seemandhra.
Further, the judge said "We will monitor the progress in this case", and posted the matter to next week for hearing.
