ISB to hold two-day International Conference on Corporate Governance

ISB to hold International Conference
Indian School of Business will host the 4th International Conference on Corporate Governance in Emerging Markets, along with IFC-Global Corporate Governance Forum (IFC-GCGF), and the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR).

This conference, which will be held at the ISB campus on August 23-24, will provide a forum to discuss and solicit research from both theoretical and policy perspectives to improve corporate governance research in emerging markets, ISB said in a statement.

 

The conference series is an undertaking of EMCGN (Emerging Markets Corporate Governance Research Network) chaired by Stijn Claessens, Assistant Director/Division Chief, International Monetary Fund (IMF), it said.

The Conference will host a distinguished panel and an equally distinguished audience from academics and practitioners consisting of eminent scholars, CEOs and CFOs, independent directors, lawyers, audit committee members, compliance officers, governance consultants and other important functionaries, the release said.

Besides Stijn Claessens, eminent scholars from different universities are expected to participate in the conference, ISB said.

A Round-Table on Corporate Governance will be held on August 24, which will facilitate dissemination of state of the art research on corporate governance in emerging markets with the objective of supporting policy and practice development, the release added.
