The CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) is an Autonomous Organisation under the Union Ministry Resource Development, Govt of India, New Delhi.
The Board is all set to hold its 2nd International Life Skills, Values, Gender, School Health and Well Being Summit in the year 2013. It is a Pan India School based activities that are held From September to December.
The board has hereby introduced Life Skills, Values Education and Gender Sensitisation as an integral part of the curriculum with the educational reforms, to empower the affective domain of the learners so that they are able to develop self-confidence, eco-sensitivity and right approaches to life processes, health, well being and gender.
CBSE in its official notification has announced the 2nd International Summit for the schools affiliated to CBSE in collaboration with Expressions India. The unique aspect of this year's program is to create a country-wide presence of the events at 14 regional summits, between September-November 2013.
The Competitions held are:
- Global School Health Exhibition
- On the Spot Poster Making/ Painting
- Theme Songs on Gender and Values
- Create a Thematic Jingle (Advertisement)
- The Wellness Elocution
- The Adolescent Whiz-Quiz
The Co-Scholastic Festival combines with:
- The National Youth Health Parliament
- Lectures on Health and Well-being and hands on training in peer leadership for Life Skills, Values and Gender.
- Interaction with National Youth Icons from diverse disciplines.
- Orientation and visits to the Parliament museum
- Theatre/ Short films analysis and its utility in education.

CBSE International Summit
The Board recognises the value of creating awareness regarding Health and Wellness, Life Skills, Gender Sensitivity, Values Education -with national and global perspectives.
Aim of the summit
This summit aims to develop a sense of self-confidence, sensitivity and awareness towards various issues and concerns such as-gender, environment, health and well-being in the learners.
How the summit helps?
It will also help to strengthen the ideals delineated in National Health Policy, 1983, and the National Policy on Education, 1986 as well as NCF 2005.
Objectives of International Summit
To understand and review the concept, needs and trends of School Health and Life Skills, Values Education-national, global perspectives and research. To focus on good practices in assessment and continuous evaluation of skills based Co-Scholastic development.
Impact of International Summit
To ensure integration of school safety, sanitation, nutrition, hygiene and health checkup program within the comprehensive school health education curriculum and life skills programming with a special focus on the Capacity Building and Sensitisation on various Contemporary Gender Issues in Education.
Summit's impact on education
To facilitate dissemination of Values Education by promoting the role of peer educator and student's participation with a special focus on Gender Sensitisation.
Health and Well-being
To promote Life skills and health by strengthening integrated community involvement activities, designed to engage parents and families as active participants in their children's Health and Well-being; thereby including the staff health promotion policy.
Imparts sequential health and life skills
To formulate a sequential health and life skills education curriculum for kindergarten through 12th grade, that imparts knowledge on sensory-motor skills, and adoption of positive adaptive behaviour by the students.
