The applications for PG Diploma in Food Quality and Safety for the year 2013-14 have been invited by University of Mysore under the UGC innovative Programme at Department of Studies in Microbiology, University of Mysore.

This programme incorporates the specialized knowledge and skills through "hands on training" required to implement the fundamental principles of ‘Quality Assurance.'

 

The course is tailored to take advantage of excellent career prospects available in the food industry. Schedules will be provided with knowledge required to either enter into or progress within the food industry.

The Entrepreneurs and Professionals in food Processing and Quality can upgrade their pre-existing skills and knowledge and strengthen their proficiency in design and implementations of quality management systems.

The course can impart the knowledge and practical skills that are associated with key topics of food science through studying core areas in food chemistry, food microbiology, food analysis, processing and management of food quality and safety.

Eligibility:

  • Candidates from India and abroad who have completed Masters Degree in Botany/ Applied Botany/ Biotechnology/ Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Plant Science/ Agriculture/ Sericulture/ Food and Nutrition/ Bioscience/ Life Science with at least 45% marks are eligible to apply.

The course is of two semesters of four months each. The first Semester is devoted to course work and the second Semester is assigned to Dissertation work.

The intake for course shall be twenty out of which ten seats are for Mysore University students and remaining ten seats are for other Universities and Foreign National Students as approved by UGC.

  • Bhavana, Manasagangotri, Mysore.
  • The filled -up application form along with all necessary certificates, and copies of marks cards, and certificate relating to caste/ category in case of claim for reservation under such category / caste should be submitted to the Chairperson, Department of Studies in Microbiology, Manasagangotri, Mysore.

Last date for submission of application form Aug 05th, 2013.
