IGNOU opens admissions 2013 for Diploma in Dairy Technology

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) invites application for one year "Diploma in Dairy Technology" (DDT) Programme for July 2013 session. This programme was developed with financial support of Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Government of India.

The basic objective of this programme course is to develop technician level human resource for the dairy industry. Upgrading the technical proficiency of lower level workers/ technicians already working in the dairy and allied sectors is also intended.

The knowledge imparted shall facilitate good manufacturing practices in the processing sector and hygiene viz.
(a) Clean milk production and handling,
(b) processing of milk,
(c) manufacture of western and indigenous dairy products,
(d) marketing and economical aspects,
(e) testing and quality control of milk and milk products and
(f) managing small and medium enterprises.

The programme has been developed in collaboration with Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India.

The minimum duration of the diploma programme is one year. However, the candidate has the flexibility of completing the programme within four years' time. The eligibility requirement for this Diploma programme is 10+2 pass-outs or Bachelor Preparatory Programme (BPP) from IGNOU. The programme fee is Rs. 12,000. The programme is offered in English and Hindi medium.

All the interested candidates from rural areas and below the poverty line urban candidates can avail 50 per cent fee concession on submission of valid proof.
