The Day-1 of counselling process saw about 400 candidates who were eager for their admissions in the top institutes to pursue their higher education in Engineering.
Students secured provisional admissions at the IIT Madras based on the ranks scored in JEE examination in the South zone.
The Director of JEE (Joint Entrance exam) R.Sarathi said "the counselling for the OBC and PWD (persons with disability) category candidates it would be held on July 4 and 5 and for the SC/ST category candidates it would be held on July 6 while for other batched, it would be held over the next 2 days."
According to the sources, the first round of counselling would end up by 8th of July and the other 2 rounds shall end up by 15th July, 2013.
Moreover, the allocation of seats shall be decided based on the preference of courses as indicated by the JEE advanced candidates, who have been successful.
The process is also followed by a document verification process as well as a medical verification in case of a candidate with a disability.
The officials hope for the best times to those students who are yet to appear for the second and the third round of counselling. Students are hereby requested to mark your course and college confidently.
