The former Pro-Vice Chancellor of IGNOU, Professor M.M.Pant says there is a need for Tech-based learning system in the present 21st Century across India.
The speaker M.M.Pant who is an internationally renowned figure in the education sector spoke on the topic of 'Learning 221: Education in the Second Decade of the 21st Century'.
He is committed to developing tools and curriculum in order to meet the needs of the 21st century student community.
On highlighting the fact that the delivery and reception of education has changed from the past, Mr. Pant stated that as well-educated person, today is one who is able to think beyond answers and questions set in standardized examinations and instead develops new insights to existing problems.
Disputing against the current Indian pedagogy, he made the argument that even though Indian education is considered one of the best in the world, it is still lacking owing to its inaccessibility.
M.M.Pant explains it as "The problems faced by education today can be solved by harnessing the many potentials of modern technology which permit large scale involvement and can help educators reach out to millions globally".
According to him, Social learning is also one of the greatest virtues of modern technology and a new wave of educational models need to be built using such platforms of connectivity and interaction.
He said "Since learning is a common heritage the community needs to take a more dynamic involvement in the expansion of education".
However, this is a very vast discussion. There is still much that remains to be explored when it comes to technical based learning system.
