Bhubaneswar: The cutoff mark list for the first round selection for all the three streams of Plus II for junior colleges was announced on Friday.

The cutoff marks are available on the website of the higher education department (www.dheorissa.in). For the science stream, the cutoff mark of the BJB College was recorded at 92.5 per cent followed by 91.67 per cent in Ravenshaw. The cutoff mark in the Basic Science College, Bhubaneswar was 89.3 per cent.

The cutoff marks were placed at 87.33 per cent, 85.83 per cent and 85.5 per cent, respectively, for the Khallikote College, Brahmapur, Sailabal Women's College, Cuttack and Ramadevi Women's College, Bhubaneswar in science.

The cutoff marks for other prominent colleges like FM College, Balasore, GM College, Sambalpur, VD College, Jeypore and SCS College, Puri were 85.8 per cent, 82 per cent, 73.05 per cent and 82 per cent, respectively, in the same stream.

In Commerce, the cutoff marks for the BJB college was at 80.33 per cent while those for other colleges were as follows: Ravenshaw 78.33 per cent, Khalikote 67.83 per cent, Ramadevi 64.33 per cent, SCS 64 per cent, GM 64.06 per cent and FM 54.05 per cent. In Arts, the cutoff marks for various leading colleges were: BJB 64.67 per cent, Ravenshaw 64 per cent, SCS 63.67 per cent, FM 62.33 per cent, Sailabala 61.05 per cent, Ramadevi 57.5 per cent, Khallikote 52.67 per cent, GM 48.83 per cent and VD 45.17 per cent.

According to higher education department sources, students can take admission between June 26 and 29, failing which they would not be allowed to take admission.

Unlike previous years, intimation letters would not be sent to the students this time. However, they can download the same from the official website.

They would be informed through mobile SMSs, e-mails regarding their selection, the officials informed.

To get more information regarding admission, students could visit nearby SAMS resources centres.
The department has opened 477 SAMS resource centres across the state.
