This year the University had 20,026 registrations along with the fee submission, where as last year (2012) it had received about 19,562 applications, 17,600 in the year 2011.
As the admissions are opened till 20th the officials of the University Admission committee is expecting to count a few more applications. An official from the Admission Committee, Anil Mishra said "The total number of registrations is 36,500."
However, the merit cut-offs are expected to be displayed in a day or two in the university official website. Also, for the first time Lucknow University is planning to go with off-campus online counselling for the applicants. With the counselling expected to begin from 1st of July, there is a possible chance that candidates will be given a choice to opt for among the courses available.
On Monday, the National PG College had also closed the admission counter held for UG Courses. It had received about 11,100 forms for conventional courses. Out of which 6500 forms were received for B.Com, which emerged as the top choice among the students. Further, about 2300 forms were received for B.Sc Maths, 1600 for BA, and about 700 for B Sc Bio.
For professional courses, the application status is as following: 750 for B.Com (Hons), 620 for BCA and 587 for BBA. This college has further extended its due date for admissions till June 25. Candidates who have missed the chance to apply before can do it before the due date.
