Newcastle University introduces New courses for Indian Students

Newcastle University starts New courses
Newcastle University, UK, a major research-intensive university, located in Newcastle upon Tyne in the north-east of England, has introduced a range of post graduate and research programmes considering specific needs of Indian students.

The university has announced six new post graduate and research programmes in the field of Architecture, Communications, Logistics, Agriculture and Biomedicine.

The new courses introduced this year include: architectural theory and criticism, cardiovascular science in health and diseases, cross cultural communication, neuromuscular diseases, rail freight and logistics and sustainable agriculture and food security. These courses can be pursued full time over a period of 12 months.

An applicant whose first language is not English is required to appear for IELTS exam and score according to the course prerequisites. The courses will start from September 2013.

Commenting on the new development, Mrs. Preety Bansal, Country Manager, Newcastle University, UK said, "Newcastle University is constantly growing its portfolio of courses to appeal to an increasingly significant Indian market. The rapid development in the field of management, biomedicine, engineering, logistics and architecture in India has resulted in a huge market demand for skilled professionals in these disciplines."

In addition, we also provide specific scholarships to Indian and other overseas students in our endeavor to help them pursue their dream course."

Students can also benefit from a range of scholarship opportunities at Newcastle University. The International Office has announced 8 Newcastle University India Scholarships (NUIS PG) worth £ 2000 for high achieving Indian students commencing their post graduate studies in September 2013.

It is also offering Newcastle University International Postgraduate Scholarship (NUIPS) worth £1,500 for international students based on merit and a good English score.

Newcastle's faculty of Science, Engineering and Agriculture and faculty of Medical Sciences offer scholarships ranging from £1,000 to £1,500 to international students for specializations in mechanical, electrical and electronics, computing science, chemical engineering and biosciences.

Apart from these scholarships, the university offers a range of scholarships for International students including International undergraduate merit scholarship, overseas research scholarships, alumni tuition fee discount and international family discounts.
