VIT University has bagged two awards instituted by the Consortium of Co-Chairpersons-Industry (CCI) of Gujarat Technological University (GTU) jointly with Communication Multimedia and Infrastructure (CMAI) Association of India under the following categories:
- Best University in visualizing and executing any innovative program.
- Best University Promoting high quality Research at Master's and doctoral thesis work.
Dr. S. Narayanan, Pro-Vice Chancellor has received the awards on behalf of VIT University from His Excellency Mr. Ndubuisi Vitus Amaku, High Commissioner of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the presence of Dr. Akshai Aggarwal, Vice Chancellor, GTU on 18/05/2013 in Ahmedabad.
Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has set up 25 GTU Innovation Sankuls all across Gujarat. Each Sankul provides a platform for colleges and surrounding industries to work together. A Sankul Committee is co-chaired by a senior academician and an industry leader.
The Consortium of Co-Chairpersons - Industry (CCI) has decided to give annual awards to recognize excellence in different aspects of working of technology Universities. A technology university can present the work done during the last two years for the award.
The CCI Technology Education Excellence Awards 2013 are being organized jointly with Communication Multimedia and Infrastructure (CMAI) Association of India. CAMI is India's largest ICT association with 48,500 members and 54 MoU partners across the globe. ASSOCHAM, a National Chamber of Commerce and Industries, has also supported the event. The jury has been constituted by CMAI to transparently adjudge the entries on their merit.
