The UGC has granted the recognition for the oldest university in Karnataka. In 2012, the university had conducted the KSET exams following which the UGC (NET bureau) evaluated its performance and re-accredited it as the nodal agency in Karnataka to conduct KSET, which are planned to be held in November/December.
"Based on the recommendation of the high-level UGC Expert Committee which met on April 18 last at the University, the UGC (NET Bureau), New Delhi, has given Re-accreditation to the University of Mysore to conduct KSET every year for a period of three years from 2013," said Prof. Rangappa.
The KSET centre will be holding the test for determining eligibility for Lectureship/Assistant Professorship in the year 2013. Candidates who qualify in KSET will be eligible to apply for the post of Lectureship / Assistant Professorship in any university / college / institution of higher education (Government/ Aided/ Private) in Karnataka State only.
The UGC has given accreditation to conduct KSET examination for 32 subjects.
Mysore University planning to issue notification on KSET online applications in the month of June/July 2013 and the examination will be conducted in the month of November / December 2013.
Application forms will be made available in the University website. Hard copy of the application form has to be submitted to the respective Nodal Officers in different University centers along with their PG marks card and valid caste certificates.
Candidates who have secured at least 55% of aggregate marks in a master's degree are eligible for this Test. There is no upper age limit for applying for Lectureship.
