GU To Conduct Centralized Admissions for BBA, BCA and B.Ed

GU Continues With Centralized Admissions
Gujarat University has come across a decision to conduct admissions with the Centralized process for courses- Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor in Computer Application (BCA) and Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).

The decision was taken after the University authorities were pulled up by the state Government for harming its image. The meeting was chaired by the Vice Chancellor Adesh Pal, and the communication said that while the system of centralized admissions was being adopted across the Country, Gujarat University wanted to follow its own rule, and they instead went opposite to the process.

State education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasma told he had received complaints from students and parents regarding the decision taken by the university last week. "I have told the university authorities to revert to the system of centralized admissions in the interest of students and parents," the minister said.

According to the sources, university authorities have been asked to refrain from taking decisions that can put the government in a tight spot. They have been asked to take prior permission from the government before taking decisions on sensitive matters.

President of Gujarat University College Management Association Sudhir Nanavati said, "The university has nothing to lose from the centralized admissions system as it takes money from every college for granting admissions through this procedure."
