Osmania University vice-chancellor Prof S Satyanarayana released the schedule of entrance tests on Monday which will be held between May 30 and June 10 (three sessions on each day) at 23 centres in Hyderabad.

For the first time they would collect the thumb impression of each candidate at the examination centre. He also said that they have introduced the marking of answers with black ball point pens instead of HB pencils which was the earlier practice.

To avoid impersonation, the university has taken a slew of measures. The university has introduced two test booklet series, and candidates' left thumb impression will be taken on the OMR sheets.

Students have to use only black or blue ball point pens to darken ovals on the OMR sheet, and they will not be allowed to carry HB pencils, Prof. Satnarayana said. Special observers will also be deployed to check malpractices, he added.

"Mahatma Gandhi University has informed that separate counselling sessions will be held for the courses offered by it. Combined counselling sessions will be held for the rest of the universities by OU," the V-C said.
