Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra issued an important notice that MT-CET 2013 results will be announced by June 5. Subsequently, a notification detailing the admission schedule for engineering and pharmacy courses will be released.
"The process for submission of preference forms and allotment of seats, which is done on the basis of the state merit list, is expected to begin from second or third week of June," the press release added.
DTE official said, "Despite the large number of candidates appearing in CET, only 70-80% aspirants actually applying for CAP rounds after the results as several candidates get selected for IIT and other institutes. Some fail in HSC or get less than 45% marks (40% for reserved quota). Thus, virtually all applicants meeting the Class 12 passing marks criteria get admission."
S K Mahajan, director of technical education (Maharashtra), said, "There was no issue in the exam and we are satisfied with the work of our team."
Most candidates described the test easy when compared to the last year's exam. "I found the physics paper relatively tough, but biology and chemistry were easy, and mathematics paper was easier," said a candidate at the SP college centre. Another candidate said, "I am eagerly looking forward to the results of this test. The papers were quite good for me."
DTE had conducted MT-CET 2013 for admission to first year full time degree courses in Engineering / Technology and Pharmacy in the state of Maharashtra commencing in the session 2013-14.
