The department said the process will cover 1,307 junior colleges across the state will begin from May 15. There will be both online and offline application forms this year. The Higher Education department also directed the authorities of these colleges to wind up the admission process by July 8 and start classes from July 9.
Now both the online and offline application forms for admission will be available from May 15, 10 days before the earlier announced date of May 25. The last date of application will be May 30 for online and May 31 for offline applicants against the earlier announced dates of June 9 for online and June 10 for offline.
This time the department of higher education has decided to reintroduce the provision of second selection. The candidates can fill up application forms for maximum ten colleges.
The online common application forms will be available on the higher education department website www.dheorissa.in from May 15.
While the first selection list will be published on June 8, admissions will be held between June 14 and June 18. The department of higher education had earlier announced to conduct admissions between June 25 and June 27. Classes will begin on July 9 compared to the earlier fixed date of July 19. "Since the matriculation result was published earlier, we brought forward the date," said Mihir Das, nodal officer for college admissions.
Similarly, students can collect offline common application form from the nearest SAMS resource centre college, the list of which is available on the departments website. The last date for applying online is May 30 while for offline it is May 31.
