Under the new system, admissions to IITs can be secured only by candidates who are in the top 20 percentile of their boards. The JEE's all-India rankings will be the other criteria for admissions.
Admissions into NITs, IIITs and other state engineering colleges will be conducted on the basis of both JEE (Main) and Std XII marks.
However, the ratio is 60:40, and they can select their own weightage ratio for admissions. 60% of JEE result and 40% of intermediate results.
According to the sources, CBSE will announce the class 12 results on May 16 and ICSE class 12 on May 24.
Already JEE board set that, only 1.5 lakh eligible candidates from JEE Main exam to appear for JEE Advanced test. JEE Advanced test is scheduled on June 02, 2013.
JEE board has reserved separate seats in 1.5 lakh for different category students.
Criteria for JEE Advanced 2013:
- Qualify JEE (Main) and ensure a place in top 75,750 general candidates of the common merit list. OR
- Qualify JEE (Main) and ensure a place in top 40,500 (OBC) / 22,500 (SC) / 11,250 (ST) candidates.
- In each category, 3% seats are reserved for physically disabled candidates.
In order to be eligible form an IIT seat, candidate must be listed in top 20 percentile with respective class 12 board marks.
