UGC NET 2013 Online Application form submission date extended

The University Grants Commission, in a new notification, has extended the last date for the submission of online application form for the National Eligibility Test (NET) 2013 to May 3, 2013.

According to the new notification, the date for submitting fee through online generated bank Challan at any branch of SBI is May 6, 2013 and to submit a hard copy of online application form along with prescribed documents are May 13, 2013. The students can take a printout of their application form attendance slip and admit card from the UGC website till May 9, 2013.

The UGC will reportedly hold the examination across India in seventy nine centers. The test take place to select candidates for lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in their field of study.

It may be noted that UGC conducts NET twice in a year in the months of June and December. The objective of the examination is to maintain the minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and research activities.

Besides, the UGC awards the JRFs to meritorious candidates from among the candidates qualifying for eligibility for lectureship in the NET. JRFs is available only to the candidates who opt for it in their application forms.
