Shiv Nadar University adds new courses
Shiv Nadar University has announced the expansion of its multi-disciplinary offerings with the addition of four new courses across multiple disciplines - Chemical Engineering, Sociology, History and Life Sciences.

The introduction of these new courses at the undergraduate level will allow students to choose multiple electives for enhanced breadth of learning and academic engagement. Shiv Nadar University is among the first Indian institutions of higher learning to introduce a four-year undergraduate programme.

The University is now inviting applications for admissions for the academic year 2013-14.

Commenting on these developments and announcing the admission programme, Nikhil Sinha, Vice Chancellor, Shiv Nadar University said, "Envisioned as an international research, multidisciplinary university, the Shiv Nadar University has been set up as a landmark institution in higher education in India,"

"The University is in its third year of operations and is committed to providing a dynamic, exciting, discovery-driven intellectual environment for students. We are pleased to announce the start of admissions for the academic session 2013 and expansion of the breadth of our course offerings," he said.

"This will allow our students to opt for more elective courses along with their majors as part of our multidisciplinary offering and provide students the opportunity to pursue a range of intellectual interests resulting in greater academic success, better career choices and deeper personal satisfaction. We also plan to launch schools in the areas of management & entrepreneurship, education, law and communication in the next two years." he added.

In an effort to make access to higher education more inclusive, Shiv Nadar University has instituted a broad range of scholarships for students who have excelled in academic and non-academic fields for the second year. Scholarships will range from Rs 5,40,000 to Rs 9,40,000 across disciplines. For deserving candidates, the scholarship amount will cover not just tuition expenses, but also living costs.

Admission to all programs for the Academic Session starting 2013, including new courses, and details of all scholarships programs are available on the University website.
