65k aspirants registered for GITAM University GAT 2013 test

GITAM University conducts GITAM Admission Test (GAT 2013), a computer based online test commence from April 17 to May 08, 2013 at 31 centres across the country.

GAT 2013 conducted for admission to UG & PG Technology & Pharmacy Programs in GITAM University at its Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Bengaluru Campuses commencing in the session 2013-14.

Around 65,000 aspirants registered for GAT 2013 entrance test. The varsity made all arrangements for the smooth conduct of the exam. The test centres include Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Tirupati, Khammam, Warnagal, Kadapa, Chittoor, Guntur, Kurnool, Anantapur, Nellore and Nizamabad.

The online entrance exam will be held for two hours and the candidates have to register their name at the registration counter of the test centre. They have to produce ID card and mobile phones or calculators are not allowed.

In a press release, Gitam University admissions director Prof K Narendrdra informed that the merit position of candidates for admission will be based on the score obtained in the GAT-2013. About 25 per cent seats are reserved for meritorious students from Karnataka for admission at Bengaluru campus.

First rank holders of the central and all state board examinations in 2013, equivalent to Intermediate (10+2), can opt for admission in the undergraduate programme of their choice, without appearing for the GAT. Also, the GATE qualified will be exempted from appearing for GAT (MTech admission test).

However, they have to fulfill the admission criteria and submit their application seeking admission to the respective courses before the last date and attend the counseling as per schedule.
