MIT to help solve India's Global Issues
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) had organized a session in Mumbai titled "MIT: An Instrument for Inventing the Future".

The session was addressed by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) President,Dr L Rafael Reif. The session was attended by renowned people of the Indian industry, alumni and academia of MIT.

Work of faculty and MIT graduates has had an important impact globally. MIT is expanding its global engagements, which include research programs on worldwide issues such as health, water and poverty. Moreover, it is also increasing its institute-level collaborations with other nations interested in developing knowledge hubs.

MIT is one of the apex institutions for research and teaching and is focused on generating, disseminating and preserving knowledge while working with academia and industry to solve the greatest challenges across the world.

MIT alumnus also highlighted the requirement for strong entrepreneurial culture like MIT in India, which will foster a large number of start ups in India. MIT is one of the top research universities is renowned not only for research and science but also humanities, business and economics. About 78 nobel laureates are associated with MIT.

MIT and India's partnership are expected to open doors for collaborations to solve some global issues such as food and water, health care, manufacturing by utilizing unique capacity of MIT to handle interdisciplinary and advanced complex situations.
