IIM-B Placements With 150 Top Companies
The IIM-B (Indian Institute of Management- Bangalore) which recently held its Placement drive for the year 2013 resulted in 381 students with the top 150 companies taking part in it.

The list includes Boston Consulting Group (BCG), the biggest recruiter, Reliance Industries and HCL Technologies and more. IIM Bangalore's students were picked up by Reliance industries and HCL Technologies and will be working within their respective company's core team and will also be in the close contact with their founders too.

Also, the Banking sector weer represented by the top sectors like Bank of America, Citibank, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, Royal Bank of Scotland, Standard Chartered HSBC and Swiss Investment bank UBS.

Students were really happy for being placed in such top companies. A student said "Its a great deal to work with these companies. We are very proud to have been elected by these giant masters. We are so lucky for this achievement and thankful for our IIM Bangalore for giving us such good opportunities to show out talent."

The placements were offered to 97 students, while 98 other students received offers during lateral placements, which requires 22 months work experience. 21 students received international postings, while 7 students opted out of the placement process.

Other recruiters include Avendus Capital and Nwe York based hedge fund, Arga Investment, and private equity players Blackstone Group (London) and consulting firms Greenwich and Roland Berger. The latter three companies hired exclusively from IIM-B and offered international location postings.

The consulting sector saw BCG, McKinsey, AT Kearney, Bain and Booz picking up students, while the marketing and sales sectors were dominated by Pepsico, Airtel, HUL , Nestle Kraft Foods, Asian Paints, GlaxoSmithKline, L'Oreal and Nokia. Many of these offered students international locations like Singapore and other areas.

IT sector was represented by Cognizant, IBM, Capgemini, Genpact , Glopore IMS, Amazon and Microsoft. Finally, the regulars including Aditya Birla Group, Tata Administrative Services (TAS), Cisco, Mahindra Group, Hinduja Group, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Cipla, DTDC and Ranbaxy were also present looking mainly to fill leadership roles.
