A total of 64,94,923 students are appearing for the class 10 and class 12 board exams 2013.
UP Board secretary Upendra Kumar said that aroun 65 lakh candidates have registered for the examinations. The examinations will be conducted at around 10,500 examination centres, against a total of around 9,000 centres that has been provided last year.
A total of 21,26,652 of boys students and 16,72,522 of girls students registered for the class 10 board examination.
A total of 14,93,286 of boys students and 12,02,463 of girls students registered for the class 12 board examination.
The class 10 board exams will get over by April 03 and class 12 by April 18, 2013.
In a bid to prevent large scale use of unfair means during the examinations, this time the board has decided to make the Inspector General (Crime) as the nodal officer for providing police security at the centres, particularly in those districts, which are considered sensitive in this connection.

Kumar said, "The IG would monitor the deployment of security and take preventive measures with regards to unfair means,"
The Board decided to have answer sheets with special codes in at least 10 districts that have been considered as "sensitive" on this count.
He mentioned, the sensitive places are Aligarh, Hathras, Etah, Allahabd, Kaushambi, Ghazipur, Mau, Ballia, Deoria and Azamgarh.
The students would be given extra 15 minutes to read the questions paper carefully. Those physically handicapped would get 20 minuted for the same.
