Student Gets Degree Before Final Exams
Bangalore University news are found quite common these days. With all other mistakes here is one more added to it. Yes, recent issues have revealed that a student studying at Bangalore University has received his Degree Certificate before the completion of his course. But Why?

The reason given was 'Error in Data Entry!' And this has led to a difficult time for the student. As a result of this act, this bright architect who passed out from University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE) is now unable to pursue his masters in a reputed institution in Germany.

The past two years has been a illusion for this 26year old student named Raghavendra Kattimani belonging to Bagalkot who had enrolled for the five year architect Engineering course in UVCE in 2005. His last marks sheet is dated January, 2011, but his convocation certificate bears the date June 2010.

When Raghavendra was asked about this issue he said "I had applied for the 47th Convocation but the certificate was delayed for over a year. So, I approached the authorities in UVCE. I was shocked when I was told that my convocation certificate had already been issued in 2010 itself. I was still studying then. I was later told by an official that it was due to an error during data entry".

The registrar R.K Somashekar has promised to take action if it was a mistake in data entry. He said that it could be a fake certificate issues by racketeers too. Raghavendra has been waiting since two years for his Convocation Certificate. He feels that with the convocation certificate predating the final exam itself, this will seem like a fraud certificate.

He has not been able to follow his dreams of studying in Germany without the convocation certificate. Who is responsible for this? The University or the Higher Officials? Even if the University provides him the convocation certificate, what about his two years which has now gone vain.

Is Bangalore University losing its name and fame? What is your opinion about this?
