Our Edu'n System Ruins Creativity: Edu'n Advisor

Today's Education Ruins Creativity
Today's Education has lots of changes. And yet, its so complicated for an aam aadmi to understand it completely. What they are facing is like 'education is Compulsory' and 'Just Go For It' situation. We believe that Education has improved a lot. But is it benefiting today's children. Are they making use of their hidden knowledge and talents.

Here's how Sir Ken Robinson, an international advisor on Education, who spoke on NPR's TED Radio Hour titled "Building A Better Classroom" expressed his views on Today's Education.

"In order for companies to succeed and stand out as unique performance require a group of Intelligent and diverse talent. Yet, its too hard to find because people are not encouraged to think outside the box not just for a time being but, throughout their lives".

"To be frank our Education System and the manner in which our companies are run cripples the creativity." He argues that the present education system berates those who break out of the mold, because in order to do this, you have to be prepared to be wrong", he added.

"And in our current system, making a mistake is stigmatized, yet making mistakes and taking chances are the only ways we come up with new ideas", he explained.

In order to make his explanation more clear, he said with an instance situation, "Kids will take a chance, if they do not know that they will have a go. They are more frightened of being wrong. What we do know is if they are not prepared to be wrong, you will never come up with anything original. By the time passes, they get to be adults and now, most of the kids would have lost that capacity".

He compares the same situation with the education system as well. He said "Now We are running National Education systems where mistakes are the worst thing you can make. And the result is we are educating people out of their creative capacity. Human communities depend upon the diversity of talent, not a singular conception of ability", he argued.

He dragged out the past around the 19th century, when the education system around the world was invented to centre based on the needs of 'Industrialization'. But, since we have gone through several cultural impacts, and we are at present in the Knowledge Economy.

He stressed out that the essential value of out time is Entrepreneurialism, which completely requires us to use our brains in entirely different ways.

Do you agree with views of Sir.Ken Robinson on Today's Education. So, tell us what are the changes you think must be applied on our Education Sector and why? How it shall bring effective changes? in future.
