Supreme Court also ordered that that entrance exams results should not be announced until receiving next orders from the SC. The three member bench who investigated the case said the above on Dec 13, 2012. SC will take up the NEET case from Jan 15 to 17, 2013 again.
The Medical council of India issued notification for conduction National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) for the year 2013-14. Postgraduate courses entrance test NEET PG 2013 was recently conducted and Undergraduate medical courses NEET UG 2013 online registration started.
Many states in the country opposed to participating in NEET for postgraduate admissions as private colleges and universities will not be able to conduct their own entrance exams. Some states approached to the Supreme Court and filled petitions to get exemption form NEET. Many NEET cases were still pending in the state's High Courts and later all the cased were shifted to the supreme court, requested by the Medical Council of India.
Before, giving the orders on NEET, Supreme Court asked the MCI and Private Medical colleges and state governments universities to submit their own arguments before Jan 07, 2012. Various state governments argued that rural students who studied intermediate in regional languages will lose due to NEET. It wad also brought to notice of the court that sine intermediate syllabus is not same as in all the states, students may face difficulty in competing with others in national level entrance exam.
Now, the Supreme court has given permission to private medical colleges and state governments universities to conduct their own entrance exam. The Students can choose the entrance exam their own to appear for the exam. Since the case will again be taken by the Supreme Court on Jan 15 to 17, 2013, clarity on the situation can exempted by then.
NEET UG 2013 for Undergraduate Medical/Dental courses is going to be conducted in May 05, 2013. Supreme Court's final judgment can be expected before MBBS entrance exam.
