MBBS Seats Increased At Patiala & Amritsar College

Increase In MBBS Seats: Punjab Govt
The Government of Punjab has decided to increase 100 seats for MBBS in two Government Colleges of Patiala and Amritsar from next academic session.

An official said, the decision of this effect was taken by Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal in the 30th meeting of Government body of Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Society, Jalandar.

These two above mentioned colleges at present have around 150 students each for MBBS course. In-fact, the government has also accepted in increasing 47 seats in PG Courses at Patiala Medical College. He revealed that the Chief Minister has directed the concerned authorities to expedite the construction work of the Rs.5 crore Drug De-Addiction Centre at Patiala.

He approved to constitute a committee in order to promote research in all the Government Medical and Dental Colleges of the state, for which Rs.5crore has been approved.

This in-turn shows the great inflow of students to get admissions in MBBA or other Postgraduate courses.
