Punjab Government To Promote Paramedical Education

The Government of Punjab has come across a decision to integrate a Paramedical Council to promote the practices of Paramedical Practitioners and institutions across the state. The blue print of Panjab State Paramedical Council Act, 2012 has been uploaded on the website of the Medical Education and Research Department.

For its better enhancement of the act, the department has sought objections from the different walks of it. Education Minister, Chinni Lal Bhagat said "The department has invited suggestion and objections, if any from the parties concerned till November 25, 2012 so that judicious concerns may be incorporated in the act."

"This paramedical council would formulate schemes for promoting paramedical education. The council would also lay down norms and standards for courses, curricula, physical and instructional facilities, staff pattern, staff qualification, quality instructions, assessment, examination and continuing medical education", he added.

The minister also revealed that Director, Research and Medical Education would be the president of the council whereas senior most Principal of State Medical College would be inducted as Vice President. Further suggestions can be sent to the E-Mail id: [email protected] .
