The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has official declared that the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE), a common test for admission to the engineering colleges across India was mandatory for the state's students. The board has also announced the process and last dates for the JEE, which will be conducted nationally on April 07, 2013.
Chairman of GSHSEB R R Varsani said that the JEE would be mandatory for Gujarat Technological University (GTU) and other universities to consider while offering admissions. The weightage of marks scored in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry papers in board exams will be 50%. The JEE score will account for the other 50%.
Mode of the Examination:
The Paper-1 of JEE (Main) will be conducted in two separate modes i.e. Offline (Pen and Paper Based Examination) mode and Online (Computer Based Examination) mode. The Paper-2 of JEE (Main) will be conducted only in Pen and Paper based examination mode. A candidate will opt for either Pen and Paper Based or Computer Based examination modes for Paper-1 only.
Online Registration for JEE Main 2013:
In order to appear in JEE (Main) and/or JEE (Advanced) 2013, the candidates are required to apply only online. The candidates are further advised to visit the website before filling up the application form for ascertaining their eligibility for appearing in examination as well as for admission. The online registration form will be available on JEE Main website from 8th November, 2012 to 15th December, 2012.
Important Dates:
Last date for filling of application form online: Dec 15, 2012.
Last date for receipt of Confirmation Page at JEE (Main) Secretariat: Dec 26, 2012.
Pen & Paper Based Examination: April 07, 2013.
Computer Based Examination: April 08 To 25, 2013.
