JEE Advanced is an entrance exam for engineering courses held by IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee. Only 1,50,000 of the top JEE (Main) Scorers from all categories (GE, OBC (NCL), SC and ST) will be eligible to compete in JEE Advanced (formerly known as IIT-JEE). The following is the pattern for the JEE Advanced Paper: There will be two objective type papers in the JEE Advanced: Item I and Item II Each Paper will consist of three sections: Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. The question paper will be in either Hindi or English, depending on the language selected by the candidate on registering for the exam.
A Total of 50.5% of the 1,50,000 (75,750 candidates) will be taken from the top rankers of the Common Merit List (CML) of JEE (Main). 27% (40,500), 15% (22,500) and 7.5% (11,250) candidates will be taken from the top rankers of the category rank lists of OBC-NCL, SC, and ST, respectively. The candidates figuring in the category rank lists will be those who do not figure in the 75,750 candidates chosen from the CML.
A Total of 3% of the candidates selected within each category will be those belonging to PWD (Persons with Disability) sub-category, who figure in the respective rank lists of JEE (Main).
Only the candidate's aggregate marks in JEE (Main) will be considered and no tie-break mechanism will be implemented at this stage. This will make the list of candidates eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2023 slightly more than 1,50,000 due to bunching of candidates with the same aggregate marks at the bottom of each category.
Candidates who have qualified for the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling will be needed to apply for counselling after the JEE Advanced Result is announced. The JoSAA counselling process is a consolidated admissions process for the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and other partner schools.
The minimum qualifying marks required for candidates to be eligible for admission to various undergraduate programs at IITs and other participating institutes are referred to as the JEE Advanced 2024 Cutoff. The cutoff marks are determined by factors such as the exam's difficulty level, total number of candidates, and seat availability.
The cutoff marks differ for each category (General, OBC, SC, ST, and so on) and are issued following the announcement of JEE Advanced results.C Candidates must meet the cutoff marks in order to be considered for counselling and seat allocation. The JEE Advanced 2024 Cutoff is used to select students for admission.
You can find the JEE Advanced 2023 Cutoff in the Table below:
