4th IBSSC Wants B-schools Closer

A galaxy of global management education leaders, including Sally Blount, dean, Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, USA; Pascal Morand, dean ESCP Europe, France; Arnoud De Meyer, president, Singapore Management University; John A. Quelch, vice-president and dean, China Europe International business School, will address the 4th International Business School Shanghai Conference (IBSSC), to be organized by Antai College of Economics & Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, on October 18-19, 2012. Prof Zhou Lin, dean, Antai college of Economics & Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, said, "We feel ‘Business Education in Emerging Markets' will be a great theme for the 4th IBSS Conference, The theme will involve discussions on the development, reform, and transformation of business education in emerging countries, and will explore curricular innovation, pedagogical approaches, and strategic alliances in the context of emerging economies. The second topic to be discussed at the conference will be how American/European business schools can be better players in the international business education market."

One of the absorbing sessions of the conference will be the dialogue session, to be chaired by Mr Agnihotri. Here, deans and directors of noted Indian and Chinese B-schools will deliberate on ‘How B-schools in China & India can collaborate to create next practices.'

Noted academicians, deans and directors from both the countries will take part in the dialogue session. The Indian delegates are Dr Debashis Chatterjee, director, Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode; Dr Raj S Dhankar, dean, Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, New Delhi; Dr MJ Xavier, director, Indian Institute of Management, Ranchi; Dr R Sesha Iyer, director, SP Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai; Dr H Chaturvedi, director, Birla Institute of Management Technology, Delhi NCR.

The Chinese panelists are Prof Shu-hsing Li, dean, College of Management, National Taiwan University; Prof LU Xiongwen, dean, School of Management, Fudan University; Prof Chao C. Chen, dean, School of Business, Nanjing University; Prof Zhang Wei, dean, College of Management and Economics, Tianjin University; and Prof Zhou Lin, dean, Antai College of Economics & Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
