Several state like Haryana, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat have already agreed to the CET.
The National Board of Examinations (NBE) has issued notification for conducting a single common Entrance Examination (NEET-PG) for admission to various MD/MS and PG Diploma courses for the year 2013. As per the notification, NEET-PG is a mandatory test for gaining entry to MD/MS/PG Diploma courses at all Medical colleges under the ambit of PGME Regulations of MCI. No candidate who has failed to obtain the minimum eligibility marks as prescribed shall be admitted to any Post Graduate Medical courses.
The Government of Kerala vide GO (Rt) No. 3288/2012/H&FWD dated.05.10.2012 have made it clear that the admission to the Post Graduate Medical Courses in the Medical Colleges/Institutions in the State of Kerala from the academic year 2013 will be on the basis of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET- G) and that Medical PG aspirants from the State of Kerala shall have to participate in NEET-PG and obtain minimum eligibility marks as prescribed, for getting admission to Post Graduate Medical Courses.
The Prospectus for admission to Post Graduate Medical courses shall be issued by the Director of Medical Education with the approval of the Government every year and the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations shall be the authority for conducting the allotment and admission in the State Quota seats in P G Medical courses.
