Common Admission Test 2012 Starts Today
The Common Admission Test (CAT 2012) will starts today at 61 centres in 36 cities across the country. A total of 2,14,068 aspirants registered for the CAT 2012 and conducted from Oct 11 To Nov 06, 2012.

The CAT is an all India entrance test for admission to the 13 IIM's and other b schools registered for CAT across the country. This Year Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) is conducting the test. According to the statistics available with prometric, 28% of the total over 2.14 lakh aspirants are girls, which is up by 1% as compared to the last year.

 

CAT 2012 Test Pattern:
The test comprises of two sections that are separately timed. Each of the sections will be held for 70 minutes (1 hour and 10 minutes). It consists of 30 questions in each section.

The sections are:
(a) Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation
(b) Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning.

Once a section ends, aspirants can no longer go back to it. Aspirants will be presented with the section on Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation first, followed by Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning.

Candidates have been asked to carry the original admit card and originals of photo identity proof such as driving licence, passport, PAN card or voter ID.

SSS Kumar, CAT 2012 convenor, said, "Things are smooth and we hope to have a good run like last year. The whole team has been visiting the centres and ensuring that everything is in place".
